Salary: Grade 8: £43,414 - £51,805 with a discretionary range to £56,592 per annum. With reduced responsibilities, this post can be offered as a Grade 7: £34,308 - £42,155 with a discretionary range to £46,047 per annum
We are seeking to appoint a Vaccine Programme Manager and Medical Writer to take on a significant leadership and management role within the Douglas Group at the Jenner Institute, Nuffield Department of Medicine.
Reporting to the Senior Vaccine Programme Manager, Dr Adam Ritchie, and working closely with group leader Associate Professor Sandy Douglas, you will contribute to work across the entire vaccine development life-cycle; from conceptualisation and acquisition of funding, through pre-clinical work, vaccine manufacture and clinical trials, to publication of results and working with industrial partners. This new role will allow you to take responsibility for discrete areas within our portfolio of vaccine research relating to rabies, Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), COVID-19 and manufacturing technologies, while making meaningful contributions across the entire portfolio.
It is essential that you are educated to a PhD level in a relevant area of research and with a demonstrable experience in managing and coordinating complex scientific projects successfully; or educated to an undergraduate level with an excellent track record of managing and delivering successful scientific research projects. You will have knowledge of preclinical, translational or clinical trials management and associated legal/regulatory requirements. You will have strong interpersonal skills, and be able to work efficiently in multidisciplinary teams and with a wide variety of people internationally. You will be able and willing to work independently, and provide support and supervision to others as necessary, and you will work effectively as part of a cross-functional team.
