The University of Bradford Faculty of Life Sciences is seeking to appoint Lead Data Stewardship Trainer to work in the field of Data Management and Stewardship in the life sciences. This post will work with members of ELIXIR-UK to develop and deliver training to a national audience of life science researchers.
In this role you will be working as part of ELIXIR-UK, a distributed organisation with 24 member institutes and universities across the UK. We provide training and services to help life science researchers work with data in an open and transparent manner. ELIXIR-UK is the UK node of ELIXIR, an intergovernmental organisation that brings together life science resources from across Europe making it easier for scientists to find and share data, exchange expertise and agree on best practices. This role is an opportunity to be part of an exciting training programme which will build knowledge and community for data stewards across the UK.
This post will develop, teach and lead training in aspects of data management within the biological and life sciences. Content will compliment and align to existing Data Management expertise and resources such as the ELIXIR RDMkit (https://rdm.elixir-europe.org/), FAIR Cookbook (https://fairplus.github.io/cookbook-dev/intro.html) and the ELIXIR training portal (https://tess.elixir-europe.org/). The post will interact with field experts within the ELIXIR-UK community to learn and translate expertise into training for a national audience of life scientists.
In this role you will work closely with a Data Stewardship Community Manager and you will be involved in the development of the curriculum, the adoption of novel training methods and will be trained to support a growing community of Data Stewards looking to teach material within their own Institute/Universities.
