The Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) funded project "Modeling Meaning in Text Data for the Social Sciences" is offering a position as a Post-doctoral Fellow (PostDoc) under the supervision of Dr. Achim Edelmann. The successful candidate will become part of a small team of researchers at the Institute of Sociology with extensive experience in text and network analysis in sociology and political science. The project aims to create NLP tools and techniques to capture semantic and linguistic forms of meaning in text data. These methods will then be applied to substantive questions in the sociology of culture, economic sociology, and the sociology of science, using interview transcripts and scholarly articles. While the project provides data and overall research questions, the specific focus can be tailored to the interests of the candidate.
