WHAT WE DO
The Directorate of Estates comprises Health, Safety and Environment team, the Campus Facilities team and Property and Maintenance team. Between them they service the estate across the whole of the Luminate Group; As well as undergoing a significant restructure to enable future growth and address much needed change, the directorate is embarking in a growth programme to create a number of new campuses over the next five years which will address a significant growth in student numbers.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Based at The Vine campus this role is part of a small team responsible for ensuring that the teaching and learning activities are able to run as they should by supporting the buildings and systems that enable classes to be set up, PPE to be available in the right places, Post delivery, ensuring the building heating, ventilation and air conditioning are working as they should and ensuring the sites in general are and look at their best as a workplace and a place of study across the business.
You will support the Facilities Manager in all the above as well as the more basic planned maintenance tasks (ppm's) that need to be carried out to stay compliant with regulations, and opening up or locking up buildings at the start and end of the shift. Usual work hours will be 08:00 - 16:00 Monday to Thursday, 08:00 - 15:30 Friday. Flexibility is a must in order to meet the business needs. The college currently operates mainly Monday to Friday.
YOUR PROFILE
The most important and essential attributes for this role are a commitment to self development and to delivering outstanding customer service to our students and staff; good interpersonal skills (i.e. being able to deal with people correctly, communicate, be a team player and stay focused on what needs to be done); English and maths GCSE or equivalent and a driving licence. Also essential is to have worked in a customer service environment.
Desirable, but not essential: having an SIA door supervision or CCTV monitoring licence, knowledge and understanding of compliance ppm's, having worked in a building trade (or having gained a qualification in one) such as plumbing, joinery, building or electrical engineering would be a fantastic bonus as is having worked in an educational setting in a previous job.
