We are seeking an ambitious experienced graduate children’s nurse to join a proactive and motivated team, teaching and researching within a Department which delivers nursing, midwifery and other health related programmes. You would be joining us at an exciting time of team and programme expansion and growing student numbers.
You will be expected to contribute to, and as appropriate, lead on the provision and development of a range of outstanding undergraduate and postgraduate child health nursing and health related programmes, including, where appropriate, the supervision of doctoral students. You will also be involved in the delivery and development of simulation-based skills and education delivery. Your role will also provide support to students, practice supervisors and practice assessors within clinical practice areas.
We seek to recruit an applicant who demonstrates commitment to facilitating student centred learning and innovative approaches to child nursing. You should have knowledge of a broad range of contemporary child nursing practice, relating to the care of children and families in all healthcare settings. You will also engage in the enhancement of the student experience through use and development, of innovative and effective teaching and facilitation methods and utilisation of research in programme delivery.
Current registration with the NMC and either completion of or working towards completion of a master’s degree in a relevant subject are essential. You must be a member of the Health Education Academy (HEA) or have capacity to obtain membership within 12 months of appointment. On appointment you must be prepared to register and study towards a doctorate if you do not already hold one.
