We seek to appoint a post-doctoral research associate to join the Ruminant Research Group. You will join a multidisciplinary research group and will work on our BBSRC-funded project, ‘Integrating clinical, data-driven and in-vitro approaches to the study of host-pathogen interactions in bovine digital dermatitis’. You will be primarily responsible for monitoring foot health and collecting biopsy and blood samples from a cohort of dairy heifers (assisted by experienced veterinarians) and for investigating the role of host-pathogen interactions in DD development and progression utilising novel in vitro models of the disease. Applications are invited from candidates with a PhD in animal, veterinary or biological sciences who wish to advance their careers to a higher level within our excellent research and teaching environment.
The role is available up to a 24-month fixed term contract. Earliest start date 1st July 2023.

Any applicants who are still awaiting their PhD to be awarded should be aware that if successful, they will be appointed at grade 6, spine point 30. Upon written confirmation that they have been successful in being awarded their PhD, they will be moved onto grade 7, spine point 31 from the date of their award.
