Birmingham Law School (BLS) is a global, civic, diverse law school committed to excellence in all its endeavours. With 1,800 students and a highly international faculty of over 100 academic staff, our research contributes not only to the legal profession, but also to business, governance, public policy, NGOs, and the arts, as well as to the discipline of law.
Against this backdrop, we are now seeking to appoint the next Dean of the Birmingham Law School to lead the School forward through its next stage of development, formulating and realising a vision for its continued excellence in education, research, student engagement and other outcomes in line with the Birmingham 2030 Strategic Framework. As a member of the Board of the College of Arts and Law, the Dean will report to the Pro Vice-Chancellor of the College and is responsible for the delivery of the academic, financial and people management of the School as well as leading BLS’s Senior Management Team.
The Dean will possess an excellent reputation in research and teaching but also have proven leadership and management credentials with an inclusive, collaborative approach, able to build positive relationships internally and externally.
