A Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) is sought to ensure Aston is at the vanguard of higher education delivery. Reporting directly to Aston’s new Vice-Chancellor, Professor Aleks Subic, the successful candidate will provide inspirational leadership and play a central part in the development of Aston’s university strategy for 2030, reiterating its standing as a pioneer in higher education.
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include leading innovation in curriculum delivery, driving Aston’s significant commitment to growth in online provision, developing the university’s student experience strategy and reinforcing Aston’s commitment to degree apprenticeship programmes.
Candidates will demonstrate an unequivocal belief in and commitment to the vision, values and ethos of Aston University, together with the ability to understand, assimilate, shape and live the institution’s academic culture to best meet the University’s needs, goals and future ambitions. You will be able to evidence a successful track record in leading innovative academic strategy development resulting in successful outcomes, including excellent employer engagement and student satisfaction. Experience of developing and implementing new curriculum delivery models will be essential, combined with a deep understanding of blended and online learning.
Candidates must be proven relationship builders, internally and externally, able to engage stakeholders of all types regionally, nationally and internationally, to ensure Aston’s contribution to the global higher education sector is a positive and successful one.
