Applications are sought for one of two Post-doctoral Research Fellows to work with Manon Schweinfurth conducting research for a BBSRC-funded project entitled ‘Ontogenetic & evolutionary roots of social competence and their implications for wellbeing’. The primary duties will be to conduct non-invasive, longitudinal, experimental, behavioural research with rats, which includes lab-based data collection, analysis, and dissemination. The focus of this post will be on the Animal Behaviour/Cognition aspects of the project. The candidates will work within a large interdisciplinary team of researchers, providing expertise on Evolutionary Theory, Animal Cognition and Comparative Psychology.
The successful applicant will have (or be near to completion of) a PhD in a related discipline with expertise in planning experiments, collecting and analysing (preferably in R) behavioural data and will have experience in publishing scientific findings.
The post is available for 2 years in the first instance, with the possibility of extension, starting June 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter.
