We are dedicated to providing all applicants equality of opportunity, and as such we are looking for a Trainee Electrical Technician to join our dynamic team, where you will develop your career to a level where you will be able to fault find, repair and maintain a wide range of teaching and research equipment across the Science Schools at the University of Reading.
As part of the Trainee role, you will be trained to become proficient in the use of a large variety of tools and equipment. You will becoming versed in logging, testing and reporting of general laboratory equipment faults using asset management software. Health and Safety training will be provided in all aspects required of the role.
You will be enrolled on an Apprenticeship at Basingstoke College of Technology, and supported to study during work time, to gain an appropriate engineering related qualification where travel expenses for day release at college will be reimbursed.
The level of responsibility will develop as experience and training progress.
