Summary of the role
Are you seeking to join an award-winning events team……
Event Exeter is seeking an Event Sales Specialist to join the team planning and delivering a wide portfolio of events on our Streatham and St Lukes campuses. This is a permanent, full time role, and we are seeking someone who can demonstrate a track record of delivering exceptional events, customer service and have the ability to operate in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
You will work to shape the customer experience by organizing meetings, functions, accommodation, catering, and social programmes. You will be skilled at briefing client requirements and event details to stakeholders, so previous experience of the above in a customer facing environment is desirable.
The post will require you to be well organised with excellent attention to detail, and a high level of administration skill to ensure our clients and stakeholders have accurate and up to date information throughout the event planning and delivery stages. You will be expected to have excellent communication skills, both on the telephone, digital platforms such as Email, MS Teams and Zoom and in face to face client meetings. You should be friendly and outgoing, whilst driven to succeed, and have a high level of commercial acumen to ensure the best results.
Ideally you will have previous experience of using the Kinetics conference booking system or similar, but this is not essential. However, you will be proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and other essential Microsoft systems.
Together with providing an event co-ordination, sales and marketing service, Event Exeter also manages a number of the University’s key venues, along with commercial support to the University of Exeter. Our focus is to maximise income generation and profit through the effective management of venue space, when not in use by students and staff. We set high standards and expect the very best from our team.
If you are a highly motivated individual, with a proven track record in an event environment, we welcome your application. A key part of the role is to demonstrate a pro-active approach to liaising with customers and identifying new opportunities within the market place to enhance our customer journey.
Please ensure you read the Job Description and Person Specification for full details of this role.
