We have an exciting opportunity for a talented and motivated individual to join the technical services team supporting the School of Life Sciences and Warwick Medical School at the University of Warwick. Reporting to the Technical Support Managers, the postholder will be part of a team of Senior Support Technicians and Technical Support Assistants. The postholder will have experience of the delivery of a technical service to active research laboratories, in addition the role may include the supervision of junior staff. The postholder will be expected to work closely with the Health and Safety team and have experience of working within an existing Health and Safety system, it would be desirable if you possess, or are working toward an appropriate H&S qualification such as NEBOSH general certificate.

The postholder will be required to actively attend, engage in, and contribute to, appropriate meetings and groups across both Schools on matters relating technical services including day-to-day operations, contributing to the management of core equipment and, if appropriate, refurbishment projects to deliver the needs of individual groups within the laboratory estate.
The SLS/WMS Technical Support Team provides a shared service for a diverse community across two separate academic departments and supports a wide range of lab disciplines at four separate sites, Gibbet Hill, University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire Walsgrave, the Wellesbourne Campus and The Main Campus. This role offers an exciting opportunity as both Schools are also embarking on ambitious growth strategies including the recent opening of a brand-new shared research building, the Interdisciplinary Biomedical Research Building (IBRB) which can house around 200 laboratory researchers in a state-of-the-art research environment.
