This is an excellent opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic individual to join the School of Law as a Lecturer in Commercial Law. You should have a proven track record, or demonstrable potential, in teaching and research as well as a commitment to promoting the student experience. You will contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate (on-campus and online) teaching and assessment including dissertation supervision; and work closely with colleagues in the Commercial Law Subject Area to promote the Law School as a centre of excellence for teaching and research in commercial law.
The successful candidate will play a full part in the collegiate life of the Subject Area and Edinburgh Law School and will be expected to develop and implement an ambitious research plan including knowledge exchange activities with the wider community.
The School of Law strives to be a diverse and inclusive community. We particularly welcome applications from candidates belonging to groups that have been traditionally under-represented in the subject.
As well as a CV and cover letter, candidates are required to upload an outline (maximum 2 pages) of their research plans as part of the application process. Candidates are also encouraged to provide a one-page document identifying their strongest publication(s) hitherto (which may include work under review or accepted but not published), and explaining why - in their view - these papers are both original and significant.
Candidates who are shortlisted for interview will be asked to submit what they consider to be their two strongest publications where available.
The Opportunity:
To join committed team of academics in the Commercial Law Subject Area. The post will enable you to establish a strong teaching profile and to build on your existing research including developing professional contacts in the UK and beyond.
