The Admissions team is responsible for the efficient and effective processing of applications for undergraduate and postgraduate study.
Duties of the Role
The successful candidate will be part of a team that works quickly and efficiently in a constantly changing environment. The Senior Admissions Adviser is a member of the University’s central Admissions team. They play a key role in ensuring that the team delivers a high quality admissions service to a wide range of stakeholders, including prospective students, schools, recruitment agents, academic staff in University departments and Faculties, and other student services within the University.
Their primary responsibility is to process applications and make selection decisions, including selection of applicants for interview and making offers to applicants using specified criteria. Senior Admissions Advisers are the first point of contact for applicants to the University, and also provide advice and guidance to members of the public and University staff throughout all stages of the admissions process.
Skills and qualifications required
The Senior Admissions Adviser needs the ability to work accurately with attention to detail as they will be processing a high volume of applications. They will also need the ability to manage multiple tasks and to prioritise effectively. They must also have highly developed customer service skills and excellent written skills, as they will regularly be liaising with applicants, primarily in writing. The successful candidate must have a minimum of two A-levels or equivalent and experience of working in an administrative role.
