Lord Simon Woolley joined Homerton College in 2021 as the new Principal and he has inherited a visionary College, hungry to play its part in the world. This is an incredibly exciting time for a new Director of Fundraising to join Homerton and enable the College to deliver its ambitious aims.
The Director of Fundraising plays a key role in advancing Homerton College’s mission and impact. They will hold overall responsibility for the development and success of the College’s fundraising strategy, and lead on raising transformational gifts that support the breadth of Homerton’s activity. The creation of the new post of Director of Fundraising reflects a resolution by the College to develop this source of revenue, and to diversify by engaging non-alumni, trusts and foundations, and corporate philanthropy, alongside the small core of major gift prospects from the alumni base.
Reporting to the Principal and working closely with the Bursar and the Director of Communications and Engagement, the Director of Fundraising will support the College’s core mission of teaching and research through the development of donors and securing of major and principal gifts that further our commitment to education, social justice and the pursuit of knowledge.
The ideal candidate will be expected to demonstrate an ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams; to have significant fundraising experience; and to have an enabling approach. They will be an excellent diplomat with a clear sense of personal integrity and personal investment in the College’s core values. They will be able to inspire trust and confidence and to command the respect of the Fellowship, College staff, students, and alumni.
