About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Bath Spa University for a Chief Information Security Officer to own technical responsibility for the University’s cyber security operations, overseeing a range of technical and process security controls and leading a programme of continuous improvement in response to changing cyber security threats and risk. This is a senior role reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer, as part of the department’s senior management team.
The Department of IT Services is committed to delivering value to the University through the provision of high quality, reliable and resilient services that are agile and aligned with the needs of the organisation. We are proud of our commitment to customer focus and the professional, productive and positive working environment of our team.
About you (requirements)
We are seeking an experienced information security leader to lead the University’s cyber security strategy and operations, enhancing our commitment to delivering robust, business-aligned cyber security and information governance solutions. Using your experience and expertise in information security frameworks, legislation and technologies, you will play a leading role in shaping, developing and delivering our Information and Cyber Security Strategy to underpin and facilitate delivery of the University’s strategic objectives.
Working with information governance and technical teams, you will oversee technical and process security controls and activities that underpin the University’s commitment to developing and maintaining new and existing cyber security accreditations, and associated managed services in support of organisational cyber security.
You will have a strong, contemporary understanding of information security frameworks, relevant legislation, cyber security technology, practices and managed services together with experience in risk management, combined with the ability to engage with business stakeholders on information and cyber security.
