Oxford Population Health (the Nuffield Department of Population Health, University of Oxford) is a global pioneer and leader in population health science. The department has over 900 staff, students and academic visitors who work together to investigate the causes and prevention of disease and lead human health forward.
We are seeking a Senior Medical Statistician a strong background in programming and statistical modelling for large-scale statistical analysis. The postholder will be responsible for all statistical aspects of big data analyses in national cohorts and worldwide consortia in the Group. You will have overall responsibility for strategic planning for the quality control, integration, management and optimised use of the large study databases, including data which already exist, new endpoint data and new exposure data to be generated during the programme.
You will take the lead for the Group in providing statistical expertise to our multi-disciplinary team by creating analysis plans and statistical models, developing and implementing statistical programming code, performing analyses of systems to find and apply statistical solutions to problems, and supervising of statistical analyses within the programme.
To be considered for this role you will have substantial experience in medical statistics or epidemiology/clinical trials methodology and hold an MSc in a relevant numerate subject. You will have medical science research experience and proficiency in the use of statistical programming languages. You will also have experience of data management with excellent presentation, organisational and time management skills.
The position is full-time (part-time considered) and fixed term for two years. The closing date for applications is noon on Wednesday 1 March 2023.
