Funded PhD opportunities: The role of heritages, legacies and mobilities in understanding socio-economic transitions in space and time
The University of Stirling is investing £3.6m in doctoral research over the next 3 years through our Institute for Advanced Studies Studentships. We are currently inviting original project proposals across six inter-disciplinary research themes, including ‘The role of heritages, legacies and mobilities in understanding socio-economic transitions in space and time’.
Funding is available to both UK and international students interested in exploring this research theme, including:
The role of heritages, legacies and mobilities in understanding socio-economic transitions in space and time
Awareness is growing of the long term legacies of profound socio-economic transition such as decolonialisation and mass migration in the aftermath of conflict. This theme will explore how we can deploy knowledge about these transitions to support present and future communities.
Our studentship initiative provides funding for postgraduate research in ‘The role of heritages, legacies and mobilities in understanding socio-economic transitions in space and time’. You are invited to submit an original project proposal that aligns with one of these related research clusters:
For full details of our research clusters and example project ideas, visit our webpage for The role of heritages, legacies and mobilities in understanding socio-economic transitions in space and time.
Who can apply for the studentships?
We welcome expressions of interest from all candidates who meet the University’s entry criteria for Postgraduate Research degrees. We especially welcome expressions of interest from people from groups that have been under-represented in the UK Postgraduate Research community in the past, including people from ethnic minorities, women, disabled people, and people from care-experienced or socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
Read more about eligibility in our guide for applicants.
