Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) is a distinctive, unique institution, rooted in the Liverpool City Region and with a global presence. Our students and staff, past, present, and future, are the beating heart of our city and can be found in every corner of every industry and community. We couldn’t exist anywhere else and have shaped the city in which we belong. Working with the people of Liverpool to improve lives and support communities is at the heart of why we were founded and why we exist today.
Having just completed the last phase of our Estate Plan which delivered £160m of new buildings and refurbishments we are now looking to embark on the next exciting chapter in the development of our campus. We have extensive plans for development, reorganisation and refurbishment of key areas of our estate to support our University Strategy for 2023-2030.
We are looking for two enthusiastic and self-motivated project managers to join our Capital Development team within the wider Estate Development department. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for the full life cycle of capital development, building and property refurbishment projects from inception to operation. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, external consultants and contractors to ensure projects meet their goals and objectives and support the continual development of our campus so that we deliver an exceptional experience for all our students and staff. Innovative solutions will be required to resolve issues that may arise during the project(s) and you will be expected to use your professional skills to mitigate the associated impact of project risks upon time, cost and quality.
The Estate Development team work collaboratively to ensure all members of the team are supported and so we provide a consistent delivery across the range of projects we are involved in.
The LJMU Climate Change Action Plan with its goal to be net zero carbon by 2035 is changing the focus of many of our projects and we are looking for an individual who is passionate and committed to delivering fundamental change in the way buildings are designed, constructed, and operated throughout their lifecycle.
In return, we offer an excellent benefits package including generous annual leave entitlement, pension scheme, induction and development support as well as family-friendly policies.
This is an exciting time to join LJMU as we celebrate our bicentenary in 2023 and launch our new strategic.
If you feel that this is the role you have been looking for and your skills and experience can make a real difference at LJMU, we look forward to hearing from you.
LJMU is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applicants from all backgrounds and communities irrespective of age, transgender status, disability, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity and religion or belief. All our appointments are made on merit.
Please note all of our vacancies will be closed to applications at midnight on the advertised closing date, unless otherwise stated.
