The Department of Architecture and Built Environment is now seeking exceptional scholars to join us as Assistant Professors/Associate Professors/ Professors in Building Services and Engineering, Building Physics, Building Science, or Architectural Environment Engineering.
About the School/Department
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Department of Architecture and Built Environment to get engaged with teaching and research in a dynamic working environment. Focused on sustainability and innovation, the Department provides a unique opportunity for excellent scholars to play a vital role in delivering our Architectural Environment Engineering (AEE) programme. The Department also offers an undergraduate degree in Architecture, a Postgraduate degree in Urbanism, and Ph.D. programmes. We provide an international platform to nurture critical thinkers and deliver world-class research that fosters collaboration internally and externally. We continuously work with major stakeholders in the industry and various organisations. The Departments engineering programme capitalizes on the growing demand in major areas such as green technologies, green innovation, smart and healthy buildings, building science, big data analytics, digital design, and carbon neutrality. With Chinas growing economy, we are leading by example toward low carbon and sustainable development.
About You
The successful candidate will be expected to lead and deliver lectures and seminars in the topics within Architectural Environment Engineering, Building Services, Building Physics, Building Engineering, and Building Science. We are looking for someone who has had substantial teaching and research experiences in higher education, specializing in at least one of the following areas:
We seek to appoint seasoned, proactive leaders who are self-driven and results-oriented, adaptable and creative, with internationally recognized intellectual contributions in the area of your respective research centre. You will be at Assistant/Associate professor or equivalent level specializing in an area that is related to your respective research area, ideally with more than three years of experience in an academic role and have experience working in an English-speaking institute. Recognised training in relevant standards and teaching experience, particularly in key technologies related to your respective research and teaching is required; Experience of building or leading a research group/center would be desirable; Industry experience would be preferred.
If appointed at the Professor or equivalent level, you are expected to contribute to the Departments development with proven skills in strategic project planning and development in a complex organization, as well as experience in leading organisational change. Strong analytical skills and experience in setting and implementing a strategic vision are required. Strong verbal and written communication skills will be crucial in managing internal and external stakeholders. You should possess strong management skills and the ability to motivate team members. You should have an extensive international network to attract talents and secure resources.

Successful candidate will be offered a fixed-term contract for up to 5 years, which may be extended by mutual agreement.
