The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop the new MA Animation programme, located in the Department of Illustration Animation within Kingston School of Art (KSA). The course sits alongside illustration and animation courses at UG and PG level which are successful and well-respected both nationally and internationally. The role includes strategic leadership, management, and curriculum development of the new course, where you will deliver high-calibre pedagogy, research and innovation for animation and moving image. Working closely with the Head of Department you will have the opportunity to influence the direction of the course and be a key decision maker in operations and vision.
The post holder will focus on a combination of teaching, research, enterprise and/or professional activity dependent on individual attributes and current strategic priorities. Working side-by-side with talented colleagues you’ll share knowledge and expertise as part of supportive research culture to develop and publish research and enterprising outputs.
The course leader should be committed to developing innovative and inclusive teaching and learning that supports our students and our ambitions to foster sustainable ways of responding to existing and emerging issues.
The Person
The successful candidate will hold a postgraduate degree in the field of animation (or associated discipline), and bring with them a recognised teaching or learning qualification. If you have not already achieved this and the relevant level of UKPSF recognition, we’ll need you to do so before the end of your probation period.
In addition, you will have an established or emerging research and/or pedagogic profile, and will contribute to research culture, subject discourse and/or pedagogic development, and use your experience of working/researching in animation (or associated discipline) to promote integrated research and professional practice across everything you do.
On a personal level, you will be an excellent communicator and collaborator, who works effectively and inclusively across different teams and professional groups. Going above and beyond to deliver exceptional teaching and support to our students will be a core motivation.

Interviews will be held on Tuesday 25th April 2023.
