Location: College Lane Campus, Hatfield
Are you interested in Sport, Health and Exercise? This is an exciting opportunity to join our team in a full-time technical post as a Laboratory Manager in our expanding Institute of Sport subject group in the School of Life and Medical Sciences.
Main duties and responsibilities
As the successful candidate, you will be leading a small team of technicians in the newly refurbished Institute of Sport building who prepare materials and equipment for Practicals, assisting in equipment maintenance and demonstration of safe use and providing technical support for our Sports Science and Therapy research, teaching and consultancy.
Skills and experience required
You must have experience of working in Sports Science environment and be able to manage the essential requirements of busy laboratories. You’ll be expected to demonstrate most of the equipment and facilities to students from under-graduates to post-doctorates, as well as staff and external visitors. Knowledge and an understanding of biomechanics would be an advantage and there is also a need to cover consultancy support as required. You are expected to work independently and as part of a team, with a willingness to acquire new skills and techniques. Strong IT skills, adaptable work ethic and team management experience are essential for this role.
Qualifications required
It is essential that you have a Degree in Sports Science, similar discipline or equivalent experience.
