Following a successful funding application within the European HIPPOCRATES programme, a Trial Manager is sought to take day to day responsibility for the set up and running of the HPOS trial, an important study looking to follow 25,000 patients across Europe with psoriasis to investigate predictors for the development of psoriatic arthritis. You will be based within the Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences (NDORMS) at the Botnar Research Centre, Oxford.
As Clinical Trial Manager, you will contribute to finalising the protocol, study materials, training packages for collaborating sites and prepare trial specific instructions/documents. You will oversee data collection and the trial database systems (alongside the trial programmer and statisticians) and perform regular systematic checks of information held as required. You will also plan/monitor expenditure against the programme budget, and oversee the work of any junior trial staff assigned to the project.
You will have a degree in a biomedical or associated subject, or other relevant qualification/proven experience in management of clinical research and data. You will have proven administrative, communication/presentation, and project management skills (including a strong working knowledge of Word and Excel), as well as evidenced ability to organise a professional team (with management guidance) and interact confidently with the broader research community. You should be willing to travel occasionally for site visits and external meetings. Previous experience of clinical trial management, rheumatology research, and relational databases is desirable.
This is a full-time fixed-term appointment until 30/06/2026. A part time appointment with a minimum of 0.7 FTE will be considered.
A lower grade offer may be made (Grade 6: £29,176 - £34,804 p.a.) with commensurate reduction in responsibilities (and amendment in job title to Clinical Trial Coordinator) if a suitable candidate cannot be found to fill the Grade 7 position.)
The closing date for this position is 12 noon on Tuesday 04 April. You will be required to upload a supporting statement and CV as part of your online application.
