About the Programme

The Department of Engineering has an international reputation and world-leading research across engineering topics ranging from bioprocessing, robotics, control, communications and signal processing to thermal engineering, energy storage, power grids, electric drives, materials, tribology and fluid dynamics. Our research receives funding from research councils (EPSRC, BBSRC), industry and charitable organisations.

Much of our department research is multidisciplinary, sitting at the interfaces of engineering with mathematics, chemistry, physics, computer science, arts, and medicine. We also have research that reaches into geography, policy, and human behaviour.

At King’s, we are deeply committed to embedding equity and diversity in all our activities, making the department and university an inclusive, welcoming, and inspiring place to study.
