The Department of Public Policy (DPP) is a multidisciplinary graduate institution focused on the study of global public policy issues both in theory and in practice. Through excellence in teaching and research, DPP aims to create an educational experience that involves not only the acquisition of skills and knowledge but also the cultivation of a mindset that emphasizes entrepreneurship, innovation, cultural awareness and commitment to the public good. The Department offers three master's degrees in public policy that are tailored for students from around the world seeking careers in the public, private, and not-for-profit sectors at the local, national, European Union and international levels. The Department boasts a team of outstanding resident faculty and world-class visiting faculty consisting of top researchers and practitioners in the public policy field who bring a wide array of academic and practical subjects to DPP's diverse classroom. 

CEU is an English-language, student-focused research university located in Vienna and accredited both in Austria and the United States. Our student/faculty ratio (7:1) allows for small, research-driven and discussion-based seminars and close guidance from faculty members. 

MA in Public Policy (MAPP) / 1 YEAR / This intensive program gives you a solid grounding in the key themes and theories of public policy, with a strong focus on the link between policy practice and analysis. Designed to respond to contemporary policy issues, our curriculum is structured to enhance your research, systematic and critical analytical skills. Participating at a Policy Lab or an internship will provide an opportunity to apply your practical research and analytical skills in a professional policy environment. ➜ dpp.ceu.edu/ma-public-policy 

Master of Public Administration (MPA) / 2 YEARS / Bridging classroom and experiential learning, this program’s interdisciplinary approach covers a broad range of topics that provides you with the skills and knowledge to make a positive change in the public sector. The Skills for Impact component equips you with important skills in areas such as conflict resolution, fundraising, media advocacy, and managing cultural diversity. MA in International Public Affairs (MAIPA) / 2 YEARS / This highly interdisciplinary program prepares you for a career in international organizations, NGOs, journalism, academia or the private sector. SCHOLARSHIPS AND APPLICATION DEADLINES 

The majority of our students are eligible for financial aid regardless of their nationality. We currently offer a merit based partial tuition awards for the applicants who submit their application for the 2023-24 academic year by February 1, 2023 (23:59 CET)

  • February 1, 2023 for applicants seeking financial aid
  • March 15, 2023 for self-financing master's candidates who will require a study visa to enter Austria
  • August 15, 2023 for self-financing master's candidates who will not require a study visa to enter Austria
