The Libraries Accessibility Service team provides reasonable adjustments for disabled students including resources in alternative formats. This role would support the provision of accessible format documents to students, including those who need digital versions of books held in our print collection, a task that requires accuracy, focus and is time-critical.
We are looking for a colleague who has good organisational skills and is keen to deliver first class services, with experience of library, office administration or related activities. You need to be confident using IT, with excellent verbal and written skills, and an ability to meet time-critical demands.
You will need to be good with people, ready to deal with enquiries in person, over email and on the phone, be highly accurate and methodical, and have an awareness of the research needs of our academic community.
This post reports to the Inter-Library Loans department and to the Libraries Accessibility Service.
The Inter-Library Loans department has a dual aspect. One is to deal with requests by Cambridge academics, students, staff and alumni for material from other libraries. The second is to process and supply requests for material received from other libraries and institutions for their own academic communities. This post would primarily support the supply of physical print items.
We welcome applications from individuals who wish to be considered for part-time working or other flexible working arrangements.
We particularly welcome applications from candidates from a BAME background for this vacancy as they are currently under-represented at this level in our institution.
