About the Role
Applications are sought for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join Professor Michelangelo Campanella’s research group in the Centre for Clinical Pharmacology at the William Harvey Research Institute, Barts and the London School of Medicine at Queen Mary University of London. The successful candidate will contribute to research in the field of the Cell biology and Pharmacology of Mitochondria.
About You
You should have a PhD in biological/chemical sciences or equivalent qualification and have demonstrable research experience of research work in molecular cell biology. The ideal candidate will be highly organised with experience of laboratory research, and experience of the following research techniques:
tissue culture, Live cell imaging and the use of fluorescent reporters. You will have the ability to work independently and have a sound knowledge of health and safety management.
About the Centre
The Centre of Clinical Pharmacology is led by Professor Patricia Munroe. The Centre consists of 23 Academic staff, 46 Research, Technical and Clinical Trials Staff, 28 PhD students and 48 Honorary staff. It is the largest Centre in the William Harvey Research Institute. The Centre’s research strategy is to combine basic science, ranging from vascular biology, large-scale genetic epidemiology to innovative clinical trials as a route to potential new therapies for cardiovascular disease, prevention of transplant rejection and pain management.

Duration and Salary
The post is based at the Charterhouse Square Campus. It is a full time appointment. The starting salary will be Grade 4, in the range of £37,348 - £43,592 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
