We are seeking a Research Assistant to undertake research tasks for a study evaluating outcomes from mindfulness-based online support for family carers of children and adults with intellectual disabilities (the Mindful Together study). The study research assistant will work with a Research Fellow and the project team in CEDAR and external partners (the Foundation for People with Learning Disabilities, Sibs, Contact, and Family Fund).
The Mindful Together project is funded by the Pears Foundation. In the study, up to 150 family carers (parent carers and adult siblings) will receive an online mindfulness intervention coupled with peer support – a model that was identified as beneficial in earlier CEDAR research.
You will have a good (2:1 or 1st class) degree in psychology or closely related discipline that included an independent research project dissertation, have a good understanding of quantitative and qualitative research methods, and a strong commitment to working with all stakeholders. Experience in research with families of individuals with intellectual disability would be an advantage. You will be involved in study recruitment and data collection, and in carrying out data analysis and contributing to the reporting of the study findings to the funder and in peer review publications.
You will be based at the University of Warwick.
Any applicant enquiries to be directed to: Caitlin Murray (caitlin.murray@warwick.ac.uk) or Richard Hastings (r.hastings@warwick.ac.uk)
Interview dates: 25 April 2023.
