We are looking for an outstanding candidate to support the development of the newly formed Digital Futures Institute at the University of Suffolk, one of four institutes at the university.
About the post
Based on Adastral Park, near the historic maritime town of Ipswich, only 1 hour away from central London; the Digital Futures Research Fellow will work closely with world leading researchers from BT Group PLC and a cluster of 155 ICT companies.
The research will focus upon addressing social challenges using sensor networks, data science modelling, immersive technologies (e.g., games and simulations) and a range of digital tools. Working with PhD students and apprentices, the postholder will support the development of Masters and Doctoral student projects and become a central resource for a network of researchers based around the university and from different disciplinary areas.
About the post holder
The post holder will have a computer science or cross-disciplinary technically focused background with experience of delivering high quality research outputs such as functional demonstrators and/or publications. With a PhD in a cognate area, the candidate will be comfortable in a highly technical environment and will work with data and social scientists to deliver outstanding research outcomes and to develop research applications.
