The Role

We are seeking to appoint an Associate Professor whose experience and scholarship aligns with innovative and engaging pedagogy, and a commitment to supporting the career development of our students. You’ll play a leadership role in the provision of vocationally relevant student experience and development, and work with colleagues to connect the classroom to practice. Your focus on external engagement will enable you to build relationships with employers and stakeholders that may also lead to broader opportunities such as knowledge exchange, research, and commercial consultancy.
You will engage in teaching, scholarship, and professional practice in your own subject discipline. As an Associate Professor you will be expected to build national and international external networks and profile and establish Kingston Business School as an innovator in your field.
We are committed to supporting the personal and professional development of colleagues, including personal development, participation in international conference and knowledge exchange activities.
The Person
Your authority and experience will be located in both Higher Education and business, and you should be skilled in building partnerships with different types of organisations. You will have a deep understanding of the pedagogy of experiential learning and skills development and will be committed to impactful scholarship in this area. It is essential that you are able to work with academics, students and external stakeholders to deliver an outstanding student experience and graduate outcomes.
Applicants should hold at least a postgraduate qualification and will be supported to complete a PhD. You will be expected to have a strong academic foundation to deliver excellent teaching, supervise student projects, participate in the University’s recruitment initiatives, including Open Days, and provide pastoral support as a Personal Tutor to an allocated group of students.
The Faculty
Kingston Business School has EFMD, AMBA and AACSB, signalling to the world that we have met the most rigorous standards of excellence in business education. Our purpose is to make an evidence-based and transformative impact in teaching and learning, research, and external engagement.
