Lecturer – Marine Engineering Department (Ordnance)

Military Technological College, Oman – Marine Engineering

Location: Sultanate of Oman, Muscat

The purpose of the College is to deliver vocational trade, specialist, undergraduate and postgraduate engineering programmes in a well-equipped and high-quality learning and teaching environment, resulting in the student’s acquisition and application of knowledge and the achievement of operational competence and effectiveness at all levels.

Purpose of Job:

To teach, support students’ learning, undertake and support appropriate research and perform administrative tasks.

Contribute to the effective delivery, assessment, coherence, and continuous improvement of learning modules, in accordance with the MTC Strategic Plan and Procedures including:

  • Implementing MTC and International Academic Quality Assurance procedures
  • Participate in Examination boards, Module boards and appropriate committees.
  • Engage in scholarly and personal development activities.
  • Ensure that the module(s) are continuously improved and in line with evolving QA (Quality Assurance), TNA (Training Need analysis) and MTC (Military Technological College) requirements.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and produce learning and teaching material and deliver this material, across a range of modules and within the subject area of Ordnance Pathway.
  • Ensure the efficient and effective delivery of teaching programs in accordance with the MTC strategy, policy, and procedures, contribute to activities which influence leading edge practice.
  • Use appropriate learning, teaching, support, and assessment methods.
  • Supervise student projects and all the academic elements, within the subject area of Ordnance Pathway.
  • Ensure that module design and delivery, comply with the quality standards and regulations of MTC.
  • As module coordinator or program leader, co-ordinate with others (such as support staff or academic colleagues) to ensure student needs and expectations are met.

 Benefits:

  • Total Monthly salary 2100 OMR

  • 3 years employment contract
  • 45 days annual leave per year
