We are a small and friendly School, and pride ourselves on the diligence and enthusiasm of our teams. Our staff have a genuine passion for their subjects and are active researchers or practitioners, committed to helping students realise their ambitions.
We are a School that has dramatically increased our research reputation and recognition, including through our achievements in the most recent UK Research Excellence Framework. We offer huge potential for research and have grand ambitions for the future. Our campus provides for a wide range of opportunities – with well equipped new laboratories, a working farm, large estate for fieldwork, and significant investment in our facilities and equipment. This is exciting opportunity for those wishing to be part of a team addressing the many challenges we face within animal, rural and environmental sciences. It’s a challenge we’re excited about, and one that we hope inspires you.
About You
We are seeking to appoint a Professor whose work is aligned to at least one of our School strengths in sustainable agriculture and food production, animal health, managing landscapes, and / or ecology and conservation. Your research will help us achieve our School vision of empowering staff and students to have positive impact on our planet, through improving the health and wellbeing of environments, animals, plants and people.
You will be a highly-cited researcher, with a proven track record of attracting funding from sources in the UK or internationally. Your work will have impact and you will share our ambition to make a difference in the real world. Joining a friendly and collegiate School, you will be commitment to developing new partnerships through your research.
Applications should accompanied by a covering letter describing briefly how you meet the criteria outlined in the person specification, why the appointment is of interest and what you believe you can bring to the role.
