The Research Centre for Intelligent Healthcare is one of four research centres which come together as The Research Institute of Health and Wellbeing to create sustainable, novel, and integrated health and community care solutions, addressing the challenges of a changing world.

The Research Centre for Intelligent Healthcare is seeking an Assistant Professor of AI for Digital Health. The Centre is recognised for pioneering research in the areas of developing innovative healthcare technologies and devices, AI-empowered healthcare solutions, and digital heath interventions with scientific and socioeconomic impacts to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities. It is a multidisciplinary centre drawing on expertise from transformational wearable and Wi-Fi healthcare sensing technologies, vascular optics and microvascular sensing, intelligent physiological signal processing and healthcare data analytics, fundamental advances in AI technologies and its applications in healthcare, smart mobile health system, digital self-management, and digital health interventions.

Applicants should have a doctorate in the general area of computer science, biomedical engineering, digital health interventions or a cognate discipline. The role holder will work closely with the AI in Health/Digital Health Intervention researchers within the Research Centre for Intelligent Healthcare, and will also work effectively and collaboratively across Research Centres, in particular, through our Research Methods and Evaluation Unit, they will support the digitalisation of health and community interventions that arise out of the Institute and University, more broadly. This will be to establish and support research projects and programmes with the applications of AI to digital health domains, as well as for the use of AI to transform how healthcare is delivered.

Full consideration will be given to applicants with a proven research track record of high-quality and translatable research in the areas of transformative AI and its applications in healthcare. The role holder would be able to develop innovative AI solutions for analysing/interpreting healthcare data, and have the unique blend of digital health platform expertise and thorough understanding of digital interventions for healthcare and behaviour change in order to realise the creation of new digital health solutions and interventions within healthcare.
