We are looking for a practical materials technologist to work with local manufacturers to help them implement digital manufacturing technologies.

The WMG SME Group are seeking to appoint a Technology Transfer Engineer to join their multidisciplinary team to assist in the delivery of impactful projects at UK manufacturing SME’s. This project helps manufacturing SMEs become more productive and competitive. The group aims to accelerate SME economic growth through research-led innovation and by building strong sustainable collaborative relationships with SME businesses and partner organisations.

You should be able to:
Candidates should have a background gained from the application of technological innovation within business or industry. You should be skilled in carrying out technical investigations and making technical recommendations before implementing them within the client environment. Good organisational and interpersonal skills are also required.
You should be degree-level qualified in a relevant subject, preferably at post-graduate level, and/or have significant applied industrial experience. You should also be self-motivated, highly flexible with a readiness to travel throughout the West Midlands and the UK to visit clients and partners.
This appointment is dependent upon part funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), for the project Digital Innovation for Manufacturing (DI4M) project number 50R18PO2791, supported by the HVM Catapult, and will be subject to the continuation of both the availability of funding and the projects.
