Apprenticeship Salary – National Minimum Wage

The School of Humanities, Social Sciences & Law is a modern and integrated school that brings together a range of disciplines from across the social sciences, humanities and related professional programmes. The School comprises five Divisions: Dundee Law School; Education & Society; Energy, Environment & Society; Humanities; and Psychology.

Our mission is to build a high-quality and inspirational environment for education, research and social impact that will be known for its innovative approaches to the human and cultural sciences, and for addressing the major challenges faced by society in their local, national and global contexts. The School is one of the largest of the eight Schools in the University, comprising approximately 300 academic and professional services staff. It delivers education provision to approximately 5500 students which is 30% of the overall student population.

The role of the Modern Apprentice is to act as point of contact for visitors to the school and to offer advice and guidance as required.

Your priorities will include:

  • To act as a point of contact for visitors to the School, offering advice and guidance as required.
  • To act as a source of information to students on course requirements and general support services available within the University.
  • Provide support to the School Office in relation to attendance monitoring.
  • Provide support to the Research & Knowledge Exchange Office in relation to processing of ethics applications.

Who we’re looking for:

  • Three standard grades at level 3 (or equivalent) including Maths and English or equivalent Core Skills at SCQF Level 4
  • Knowledge and experience of Microsoft 365 tools
  • Very good communication, organisational and administrative skills both verbally and written.
  • Ability to deal sensitively and with tact and diplomacy in all aspects of the job
  • Applicants must be aged between 16 and 24 and therefore you must not have attained the age of 25 before the start date as a Modern Apprentice, this is due to funding available to support this post.
