Job Overview

The Business Relationship Manager role (BRM) acts as a liaison between Digital, Data & Technology (DDaT) and business stakeholders in the organisation. As departments increasingly rely on technology services to deliver outcomes and capabilities, the need to establish stronger communication between DDaT and business units becomes paramount. The BRM role is a senior-level position for which you will need a wide range of experience, hard and soft skills to fill the job requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Guide business leaders on how to derive the most value from IT services
  • Providing business intelligence to support the building of multi-year business capability roadmaps by enterprise architecture
  • Develop a "healthy and well-managed initiative portfolio" with the project, programme or portfolio management organisation (PMO)
  • Communicate with business leadership to evaluate joint initiatives and proposals to see how they align with established roadmaps and business priorities
  • Identify business value when developing ideas with a focus on digital awareness, risk assessment, business continuity and business capability requirements
  • Identify strategic business function opportunities both short-term and long-term and track adoption across the relevant departments

About you

  • Either an undergraduate degree in business, IT, finance, accounting, economics, business administration pre related field or a relevant vocational qualification - BCS Business Relationship Management or similar
  • Experience in an IT or account management environment, with significant exposure to the IT service lifecycle and the technical implementation of change.
  • Experience of preparing written material and face to face presentations to senior audiences
  • Negotiating compromises and resolution of complex service delivery issues
  • Representing IT services to stakeholders in a shared-service environment
