Solent University has an ambitious research and knowledge exchange enabling strategy intended to ensure that the success of our students is shaped and inspired by our research and knowledge exchange. Building on our strengthening REF submissions, we are developing our research distinctiveness. In the next 5 years we intend to further grow our research culture by focusing on our core strengths and expertise within our research themes of environment, social issues and policy, sport and exercise science, and media and culture, and our knowledge exchange priorities of maritime, sustainable business, social justice, health and wellbeing, student entrepreneurship, and engineering.
We would like to recruit a candidate who shares these research and knowledge exchange ambitions and can contribute to the research culture at Solent, joining our active research community. In your role, you will be supported to be involved in research, knowledge exchange and scholarly activity.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing department. As part of the strategy to grow our psychology provision we are looking to appoint a Course Leader of the BSc and MSc Sport Psychology. Both programmes are BPS accredited. The successful candidate should be a chartered psychologist holding full membership of the Division within whose domain the programme falls, or otherwise appropriately qualified (for example, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council, and/or eligible for Chartered psychologist status and full membership of the relevant Division. The successful candidate will have BPS chartership and research and teaching expertise at HEI in Sport Psychology as well as knowledge of BASES and SEPAR accreditation processes. The successful candidate will lead the BSc and MSc programme and work with existing colleagues to grow the provision, market our programmes externally and internally and enhance the student experience. Post holders will contribute to both our undergraduate and postgraduate courses as required.
