We are seeking to employ one, full time, histology research Technician and provides an excellent opportunity to join an innovative research team within the Institute of Medical Sciences within the School of Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition.
This is a 12-month post, with the possibility for annual extensions for up to 4 years. The role will directly facilitate international research into the underlying biology of motor neuron disease and frontotemporal dementia. The applicant should have experience in handling and processing tissue for experimental use, including experience with tissue staining and microscopy and should be qualified an HNC or equivalent in a Biomedical discipline or relevant qualification. The successful candidate will have responsibility for undertaking quality control procedures and maintaining accreditations standards, maintain stocks and be aware of good laboratory practice and high H&S standards. Experience of DNA/RNA/protein preparation and analysis by Western Blotting and PCR would be beneficial.
Salary will be at the appropriate point on Grade 5, £30,619 per annum.
