We are looking for a highly motivated post-doctoral scientist to join the laboratory of Dr. Iva Tchasovnikarova at the Gurdon Institute, University of Cambridge.
The overarching goal of the Tchasovnikarova lab is to apply novel genetic approaches to answer outstanding questions in epigenetics. Our research aims to:
We take advantage of existing high-throughput genetic technologies, such as CRISPR/Cas9 genetic screens, to discover novel factors involved in chromatin pathways, which we then characterise using a combination of genetic and biochemical approaches. We are also particularly interested in developing novel genetic methods to study epigenetic pathways in human cells. Further information can be found on the lab webpage, https://www.tchasovnikarova-lab.org
You should be passionate about epigenetics, be willing to tackle difficult problems and be able to develop novel experimental approaches to answer outstanding questions in the field. While prior experience with cloning, mammalian cell culture, CRISPR genome editing, flow cytometry and next-generation sequencing would be advantageous, an eagerness to learn and to exploit and develop innovative methods is the critical requirement. You will play a key role in a small team, and so a friendly and collegial attitude is crucial. You should have a PhD in a relevant subject, or be close to completion of your degree.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 21 June 2025 in the first instance.
