This part-time post (0.6 FTE) is immediately available until 30th September 2023 in the Department of Psychology.

This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home.

The role

We are seeking to appoint a new Senior Lecturer who will make a substantial contribution to the leadership of the DClinPsy with particular emphasis on academic elements of the DClnPsy and oversee how elements, roles and governance of the DClinPsy Programme.

The post holder is accountable to external PSRBs (BPS, HCPC) for maintaining governance compliance and reports to the Programme Director. The post holder provides strategic leadership (with the DClinPsy Programme Director) on the development of teaching and learning strategies and academic standards for the DClinPsy.

About You

For a Senior Lecturer post you will:

  • Possess a depth or breadth of specialist knowledge demonstrated by a Professional Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, or equivalent, of the core knowledge relating to Clinical Psychology in order to teach and support learning on Clinical Psychology modules.
  • Have a consistent track record of excellent teaching across a variety of modules and levels within your discipline as might be expected of a very experienced HE Teacher.
  • Contribute to the design, development and delivery a range of modules or programmes at various levels; applying innovative and appropriate teaching techniques; identifying sources of funding and securing funds for own scholarly activities and providing academic leadership to those working within programme areas.
  • Be expected to work towards Senior Fellow of the HEA, if not already awarded.
  • Be expected to work towards Principle Fellow of the HEA and to attend formal CPD relating to this.

We are looking for an experienced clinical psychologist with a strong commitment to excellence in training, creating an inclusive culture, and a desire to positively to shape the development of the next leaders in our profession. You will have a strong sense of your own positive leadership contribution.

The successful candidate will be a strong communicator able to assimilate, interpret, and communicate academic and scientific knowledge to a wide audience of learners and future practitioners, and will enjoy working as part of a dynamic team of educators and researchers.
