Are you highly organised, proactive, and confident in dealing with a range of people? Do you have exceptional coordination, communication, and budgetary skills? We are looking for two Science Directorate Coordinators to join our expanding team to support the Science Board and wider Directorate in delivering corporate science goals.
You will need to build and maintain good working relationships across our six science areas and professional service teams. Being a strong communicator is essential as you will be liaising with stakeholders at all levels of the business.
You will need to be flexible in your approach, discovering new creative ways of finding information to provide reports and analysis, briefings and presentations to aid business planning/decision making. You will be adept at task-switching and coordinating and managing multiple tasks or projects at once.

Main Responsibilities
Provide support to, and monitor progress of, our research excellence initiatives, contributing to the Research Centre Evaluation Exercise submission
Coordinate and monitor our annual Researchfish submission, monitoring progress and liaising with Science Area Coordinators and scientists to ensure submissions are complete and compliant
Provide Secretariat support to corporate meetings, including the Science Board
Contribute to the maintenance and updating of the UKCEH Research Infrastructure Catalogue
Support and co-ordinate corporate visits and meetings with key external stakeholders, working with colleagues in support of the delivery of the stakeholder engagement framework
Assist with the planning and delivery of specific delegated activities and reports required to support the Science Directorate and corporate office
Contribute to business and management information systems and processes, including providing input and feedback to improvements relating to existing systems and processes
Occasional travel within the UK may be required
Here are some essential skills we are looking for:
A science degree and/or equivalent experience in a research environment
A keen interest in environmental science
Excellent organisational and time-management skills
Information collation (numerical and narrative), QA/QC, analysis and reporting
We would be delighted if you also had the following skills/experience:
Work experience in an academic research environment
Analytical skills and familiarity with tools in Excel, Power Bi or other systems
Familiarity with Research Centre evaluations such as the REF or RCEE
Experience of stakeholder engagement or event coordination
