The ‘Lecturer in German and European/or International Politics’ will be a member of the Department of European and International Studies (EIS) at King’s College London. The successful candidate is also expected to produce high-quality research in areas such as German politics or foreign policy, and/or Germany’s political and economic role in the European Union and globally. The lecturer will teach modules on German politics for the BA programmes European Politics/European Studies. They might also teach existing or new modules for the BA in International Relations, the MA in European Studies, or the MA in International Political Economy. They are expected to supervise BA and MA dissertations. They will contribute to the academic administration of the department and support the work and evolution of the ‘Centre for German Transnational Relations’ through building new networks and organising public events and research workshops.
Essential criteria
A PhD in a relevant area; some first publications of high quality; research expertise in German politics and policies (but not necessarily exclusively); the ability to teach German politics; relevant teaching experience; and excellent knowledge of English (written and spoken) are required.

September 2023, for at least 2 years, and a maximum of 5 years
