Overview

You will be working within the Research Management and Knowledge Division in the Science Group’s Scientific Strategy & Development Directorate in UKHSA.

Knowledge mobilisation/translation describes any activity or process that facilitates the transfer of high-quality evidence from research into effective changes in health policy, clinical practice, or products.

We require an individual to support the Head of Knowledge and Evidence in the development and implementation of a knowledge framework to embed knowledge management and knowledge mobilisation principles into UKHSA activities in support of the UKHSA Scientific Strategy.

You will be based in the Knowledge and Library Services team, working alongside colleagues specialising in Knowledge Management, Knowledge and Evidence, Evidence Review and the Research Support and Governance Office to coordinate knowledge mobilisation activities within UKHSA, developing an internal network of individuals working in this area, so that best practice and available evidence can be readily applied to our dissemination activities, and maximise the impact of our research and evaluation activities.

Main duties of the job

  • To contribute to the strategic plans and development of the UKHSA Knowledge Framework as part of the UKHSA Scientific Strategy
  • To contribute to the development and management of UKHSA Knowledge Mobilisation policies, guidance and training, including ensuring access to specialist resources and toolkits
  • To provide specialist knowledge mobilisation subject expertise for all areas of UKHSA
  • Collaborate with knowledge colleagues in the development and delivery of UKHSA wide KMob services and user training programmes.
  • To develop and manage a Knowledge Mobilisation community of practice including relevant public involvement and engagement leads to enable co-production
  • Advanced resource discovery, analysis and the development of intervention tools and processes.
  • Map and analyse engagement with Knowledge leads across the organisation, including internal HPRU Knowledge Mobilisation leads
  • Active involvement in external knowledge mobilisation networks and communities of knowledge to enable rapid application of best practice principles into UKHSA
  • Working with the KLS Knowledge & Evidence Specialist (KM) to carry out delegated research and development work to identify relevant knowledge mobilisation models and benchmarks.
  • Support the local dissemination and tailoring of national knowledge mobilisation updates and current awareness bulletins, including keeping up-to-date with relevant information sources and resources
  • Collate and disseminate examples of impactful knowledge mobilisation activities in UKHSA in support of the value framework for Public Sector Research Establishments
  • Liaise with the Central Research Information System team to ensure the system supports knowledge mobilisation activities, and develop reports to capture relevant insights and impact
  • Work with NIHR HPRU Knowledge Mobilisation network to support translation of outcomes of HPRU research into policy and practice
