Ca’ Foscari is looking for a researcher of Ecology capable of inspiring students to become game-changers in their own fields and to make a genuine difference in the world.
Teaching commitment: the researcher will teach Ecology, Applied Ecology and Ecology in the presence of contaminants in BA and MA and PhD courses of Ca’ Foscari University. The researcher will also contribute to the training of qualified personnel to be included in Institutions, businesses and companies requiring specific skills in applied ecology in the marine-coastal sector.
Research commitment: the researcher will deal with study of interactions between the biotic and abiotic components, the evaluation of biodiversity, the determination of environmental quality through indicators/indices referable to various levels of biological complexity and the sustainable management of fisheries resources. The researcher must have consolidated experience in the development and implementation of experimental protocols for the evaluation of the impacts caused by human pressures, including pollution and the effects of climate change. In particular, the researcher should be able to plan experimental activities in the field and in the laboratory, contribute to conducting them and processing the data collected using statistical procedures and/or mathematical models, in order to achieve the set goals.
The position is at the Department of Environmental Sciences, Informatics and Statistics.
The Department is engaged in multidisciplinary research, carried out by brilliant researchers in the fields of environmental systems analysis, management and modelization of environmental and informatic systems, climate studies, complexity, preservation of cultural heritage and sustainability.
