The UK Energy Research Centre (UKERC) carries out world-class inter-disciplinary research into sustainable future energy systems. UKERC brings together 20 academic partners across the UK, and its Head Quarters team is based at the Bartlett School of Environment, Energy and Resources.
About the role
The Engagement Officer will work with the UKERC Director and Co-Directors, UKERC Operations Manager and other Head Quarters team members to build links between UKERC, the broader academic community, industry, policy and non-profit organisations. They will support the development of productive relationships with non-academic-stakeholders from the policy, industry and third sector communities. The primary activity will be working closely with these communities to identify opportunities for engagement that focus on specific projects, questions and/or interdisciplinary research challenges. We welcome applications from candidates who are educated to degree level and who have good knowledge of, and/or experience of some area of the energy system (e.g. electricity system operation, renewable energy, energy demand management, energy economics or energy policy). Stakeholder engagement experience and an overall appreciation of the challenges facing the energy sector in the UK and globally are essential to the role, and experience of working within a professional services team within UK higher education is desirable.
