Bangor Business School is seeking to appoint to a permanent full time Senior Lectureship in Data Science/Analytics. We welcome applicants with expertise in any area of Data Analytics, but are particularly seeking applicants with expertise in one or more of the following areas: Financial Technology, Finance, Consumer Analytics, Predictive Analytics, Health Analytics, Tourism Analytics, Corporate Fraud Analytics and other areas of analytics applied to business. Candidates should be, or have the potential to become, outstanding scholars, with evidence of high-quality research in progress and clearly defined plans for the next REF and beyond. Successful candidates will be educated to PhD (or close to the completion of) level and expected to teach at all levels with some modules drawing on their research interests and expertise, and to attract and contribute to postgraduate supervision.
The successful candidate will be expected to develop new modules across the Business Data Analytics programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. They must have a flexible attitude to teaching and learning, with an ability to contribute to modules in the broader Data Analytics area and to undertake postgraduate supervision.
This is one of a number of posts being advertised by Bangor Business School. The School has ambitious plans for growth with the appointment of Professor Bruce Vanstone as the Head of School. The successful candidate will contribute proactively to Bangor’s ambitions as a sustainable university. They will make a substantial input to the process of equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed to work and live in a way that safeguards environmental, social, economic and cultural well-being.
This role will be located on campus at Bangor. Through our Dynamic Working framework, there will also be the option to spend some time working remotely (although remaining in the UK) to support work life balance, which will be discussed further with candidates at interview.
