About the team
The Flexible and Online Learning Division (FOLD) was established in 2021 and brings together cross institutional experience in the design, development and delivery of flexible learning opportunities. The two teams at the core of FOLD, Digital Learning and Work-based & Professional Learning, have a breadth of experience which is currently focused on embedding university education in work based settings through apprenticeships, and the use of digital learning platforms, and practises to develop, enhance and innovate across Warwick’s educational portfolio. All these activities are carried out in partnership with academic departments and key internal and external partners to enhance the student experience.
Vacancy Overview
The Flexible and Online Learning Division (FOLD) is seeking to recruit a Head of Work-based & Professional Learning. The post will lead the Work-based & Professional Learning team to expand the University’s provision of work-based learning education, including Apprenticeships and CPD to external stakeholders. This post will ensure the compliance of the University’s work-based learning provision with statutory and regulatory requirements such as Ofsted, ESFA and OfS. The successful candidate will lead the Work-based and Professional Learning team, comprised of Programmes and Compliance Mangers, Employer Engagement Officers and an Administrative Officer. You will possess excellent interpersonal skills, be a confident and persuasive communicator, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders. Educated to degree level or equivalent, or have significant professional experience in a relevant area, you will bring relevant, senior-level experience of apprenticeship provision in a Higher or Further Education setting.
You will provide insight into the student experience, broader learning and teaching issues and academic culture, so as to work collaboratively and effectively in areas of mutual interest and aligned with institutional strategy. You will lead the development and implementation of employer engagement and marketing strategies for work-based learning provision.
You will lead across all academic Faculties, being responsible for oversight of programmes with approx. 1,200 apprenticeship students. Further details of the apprenticeship programmes at Warwick can be found here.
As an active member of the Flexible and Online Learning divisional executive team, you will have proven experience of strategy development and implementation, including the ability to develop and write business justification cases for funding/investment and have proven experience of planning and managing a budget of around £250k.
