This KTP project offers an excellent opportunity for a talented graduate/post-graduate to develop a career in data analytics and logistics modelling, with the full support of experienced commercial and academic mentors. Working with the academic and company supervisors you will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and integration of a data management system and a Decision Support System (DSS).
Tower operates an international network and has expertise in providing logistics solutions through rentable containers to transport temperature-controlled products to the market. The company is fast growing and operates a very complex network. Tower’s Global Operations, Supply Chain and Digital Transformation Teams are working in unison to design new logistics networks to support their customer base. The KTP Associate will have the skills in data analytics, modelling, optimisation and simulation techniques required for the development of a DSS to help in the network design. In support of this, there is also the need for an effective data management system that will support a DSS to aid in testing judgemental decision making based on tacit and implicit know-how. Hence, the company is keen to develop the necessary analytical skills required to develop the DSS to test strategic options, allowing for the codification of expertise to create explicit knowledge.
