We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to work as a Laboratory Technician for a newly funded programme of research called Children Growing Up in Liverpool. Working under the direction of the Programme Director, you will provide technical support for the collection, processing and storage of human samples for biobanking and use in future research. You should have at a minimum a BTEC National Level (or equivalent) in a relevant healthcare / biomedical science, some experience of working in a research laboratory or clinical setting, a good working knowledge of the Human Tissue Act Regulations and experience of working with / handling a range of biological material. The candidate must have excellent technical knowledge and interpersonal skills, and must also be able and willing to work flexibly depending on workload and priorities. The ideal candidate should have a positive ‘can do’ attitude and show a willingness to learn and improve on their existing skills and knowledge. The role is available for 12 months initially, with the vision for continuation subject to availability of funding and requirement. Where possible / required, more than one post will be appointed to the role.
