An amazing opportunity at Canterbury Christ Church University for a new Head of Business Services in our Sport & Active Health team.
We want to move people and create a sense of belonging through our activities and programmes. We have invested in multi-million-pound facilities, including our University Sport Centre with double sports hall, state of the art spin studio and gym and fitness facilities. Our gym is packed with modern fitness equipment, and we offer a wide range of fitness classes, personal training and an exercise referral service. We also deliver amazing programmes and interventions for sport, including our excellent sport scholarship programme and Club Sport programme in partnership with the Student’s Union.
Reporting to the Director of Sport & Active Health, the Head of Business Services, will oversee the business development function of the department and the work of the Marketing & Communications, Member Services and Operations teams. You will make a contribution to planning the strategic direction for Sport & Active Health, focusing on ensuring the strategy and operational plan for the department compliments and supports the University’s strategic goals and priorities.
The Head of Business Services will have overall responsibility for ensuring the highly effective and efficient operation of all indoor, outdoor and off-site sports facilities to deliver a consistently high customer experience. You will oversee the marketing and communication of our programmes and services and ensure that we reach as many of our University community as we can, providing an inclusive and accessible service. You will identify trends, analyse data and produce reports which may have an impact on the service and plan and implement strategic approaches to address these.
You will promote a culture of integrated business planning with other relevant areas of the Sport & Active Health team to ensure the smooth operation of the department and where appropriate, to optimise business outcomes.
We would love to appoint someone who understands the business and operational aspects of sport and fitness. Someone with a passion for sport and physical activity at all levels who recognises the social, mental and physical benefits of physical activity and sport; who understands fitness, exercise, and sport provision and knows what it takes to support people on their individual journeys, from first timers through to elite sports people.
